ВИВЛIОѲИКА: E-Journal of Eighteenth-Century Russian Empire Studies is the flagship online publication of the Eighteenth Century Russian Empire Studies Association (ECRESA), an affiliate group of the Association for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies (ASEEES).
The idea for an open access, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal devoted to eighteenth-century Russian studies was first broached at the 2010 annual meeting of the ECRSA. The first seven issues of ВИВЛIОѲИКА (2013-2019) were published on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) instance supported by Duke University Libraries, in Durham, North Carolina. In 2020, ВИВЛIОѲИКА transitioned to its current institutional home: Illinois Open Publishing Network (IOPN), the digital publishing unit of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Library, in Urbana, Illinois.
The ECRSA charges no fees for submission or publication of an article in ВИВЛIОθИКА and authors retain copyright in their work. Submissions appear under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in the e-journal.
ВИВЛIОθИКА is indexed in the Directory of Open Access scholary Resources (ROAD) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Published submissions are automatically assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a unique and persistent alphanumeric string for indexing in CrossRef, thereby allowing for cross-publisher citation-linking to a specifc article within the e-journal. Published issues are archived in the Illinois Digital Environment for Access to Learning and Scholarship (IDEALS) at the University of Illinois.
