Academic Resources & Collections

DLLACS collects and redirect users to academic journals, digital collections, archives, libraries, and centers devoted to sports, physical activities research, and games in Latin America and the Caribbean spread across the continent and beyond.  While some of these journals are in open access, others require subscription. You will need to consult with each organization for guidelines and rules in accessing some of these materials.

    Statistics, chronicles, images and other resources on Puerto Rican baseball in the archipelago, the Caribbean, and the US Major Leagues.
  • CLACSO (Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales) - Red de Bibliotecas Virtuales de Ciencias Sociales en America Latina y el Caribe
    The CLACSO Digital Repository is a collaborative initiative that disseminates the production of the network of associated centers and CLACSO programs since 1998. Content includes: articles, working documents, books, papers and thesis, audiovisual productions, online radios, audio files, and photographic collections.     Research guide made for researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, but has some relevant information for a wider audience. Some databases are only accessible for authorized users at U of I.
  • Latin American Network Information Center (LANIC)
    LANIC's mission is to facilitate access to Internet-based information to, from, or on Latin America. LANIC's editorially reviewed directories contain over 10,000 unique URLs, one of the largest guides for Latin American content on the Internet.   • Patrimônio Esportivo
    The website provides the access to "Patrimônio Esportivo", an ongoing project with Patrimônio Cultural Esportivo linked to Sport: Laboratório de História do Esporte e do Lazer do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História Comparada da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (PPGHC/IH/UFRJ). The purpose of "Patrimônio Esportivo" is to identify and map the geographical distribution of sports in Rio during the 19th century.     The Digital Collections contain all the digitalized publications of the Ibero-American Institute. You can search the digitalized objects or you may access the different collections. If you want to save the results of your search and exchange them with other users, or annotate the digitalized objects you are working with, you have to use the "login" and create your personal user account.
