Acknowledgements

The co-editors acknowledge the valuable contributions made to this e-publication by many beyond ourselves and the list of contributing authors included in this e-book.

This digital publication captures the conversations in the Constructing Solidarities for a Humane Urbanism symposium which built on the momentum of the Insurgent Midwest project. We are grateful to the Insurgent Midwest Co-PIs, Research Assistants, participant organizations, and organizers for their valuable input throughout the course of the project. We are particularly grateful to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) co-PIs Stacy Harwood, Marc Doussard, Ryan Griffith, and research assistants Aline Mazeto Roldan and Daniel Gonzalez; University of Minnesota co-PI Michael Goldman; as well as members of the Chicago-based Autonomous Tenants Union and Cape Town-based Housing Assembly. We also acknowledge the valuable input made by the Insurgent Midwest project co-PIs in earlier phases of its conception and implementation, including University of Illinois at Chicago faculty Andy Clarno and Ivan Arenas, and members of Chicago-based Mexico Solidarity Network and the Chicago Anti-Eviction Campaign. The co-editors, however, take full responsibility for any shortcomings there may be in formulation and presentation of this volume.

We are also grateful to our funders: the Illinois International Program at UIUC and the Humanities Without Walls consortium which is funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and based at the Illinois Program for Research in Humanities (IPRH) at UIUC.
