Tracye4d2055c1ec04bf92575642aae6698bc52f8f12aThomas Mayfield (Freedmen applicant) was Sallie and Miles Mayfield's son, born in Texas. However, the commission stated that Sallie and Thomas Mayfield had not returned and resided in the Cherokee Nation within the required time frame. Since their names also did not appear on the 1880 roll, Thomas and his family's applications for enrollment were all denied. This included his wife, Ella Mayfield, who had applied as an intermarried Freedman, and his minor children: Millert, Houston, John, Cornelia, Fannie, Hattie, Emmett, Thomas, and Loonard Mayfield.
