Ahmed Foggie is a graduate student at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a cultural historian who focuses on the Ottoman Empire, particular in the twentieth century, Barbary captivity narratives, and dandies during the French Revolution. Furthermore, Ahmed works within the digital humanities, specifically geographic information systems (GIS). In the past, he has used his GIS skills to map Barbary Captivity and Ottoman borders.
