Thirty-one specimens of the largemouth black bass, Aplites salmoides
(Laceepde), have been trained to respond positively to pipettes of one color and to give negative responses to pipettes of other colors. The results of this experiment indicate that the fish are able to distinguish among colors in about the same manner as would a human being with perfectly normal color vision looking through a yellowish filter.
