Manchete Esportiva "Manchete Esportiva" was a sports magazine published in Brazil between 1955-1959. Later, it became a sports news show screened by the television channel TV Manchete. The magazine "Manchete Esportiva", distributed weekly, focused mainly on football soccer and was considered one of the most popular soccer magazines. The UIUC library recently acquired issues covering years 1956-1959 and there are also available issues from October 1977 to July 1979 as part of the Latina American and the Caribbean collection. It has been collected by the DLLACS collection at the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Library.

Placar Placar is Brazil's most popular sports magazine, specializing in football/soccer. It has been published monthly since 1970. The UIUC library recently acquired a complete collection of this magazine, which includes issues from 1970 to 2015. It has been collected by the DLLACS collection at the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Library.

Mundo Deportivo Mundo Deportivo is an Argentinean magazine specializing in sports. Issues from 1949 to 1956 are available upon request at the International and Area Studies Library. This publication is particularly relevant to the study not only of sports but other topics significant to scholarly research about Latin America. Populism in Argentina, politics in Latin America, racial and gender phenomena in the region, and Latin America's economic scenario are some of the issues that can be explored through sporting events and using this weekly sports magazine as a primary source. The UIUC library holds issues #1 to #523, that is, from April 1949 to May 1959. It has been collected by the DLLACS collection at the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Library.

El Deporte This magazine was one of the premier tools to disseminate propaganda on Cuban sport. Published by the Instituto Nacional de Deporte, Educación Física y Recreación (INDER), the UIUC library holds volumes #2 to #24 (from 1969 to 1992).

El Gráfico Published in Buenos Aires since 1919, "El Gráfico" is one of Latin America’s oldest and most respected sports magazine. The Library holds issues #1947 to #3608 (from January 1957 to November 1988), totaling 1,662 issues. This collection was acquired with the generous support of the William R. and Annie Laurie Horsfall Fund. It has been collected by the DLLACS collection at the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Library.

The journal was previously edited as "Cultura Física" since 1985 and in 2005 was renamed as "Acción". The periodical is edited by the Cuban Instituto Superior de Cultura Física "Manuel Fajardo", is an open source publication, and it has been collected by the DLLACS collection at the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Library.
