Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: A Critical Edition

The Cellini Cup/The Rospigliosi Cup

The "Cellini Cup" or "Rospigliosi Cup" is a famous artifact at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The cup, attributed to Benvenuto Cellini, was featured in write-ups of the 50th anniversary of the museum in 1920. Ironically, given Loos's focus on "paste" later in Blondes, the Rospigliosi Cup was found to be a forgery in the 1980s, although it still resides at the Met.
